The Problem with RSVP's

RSVP’s are a huge deal for weddings, and most people do not understand this. When they receive an RSVP, they should know that means that they need to give a yes or no answer about their attendance. They are so important for many different ways. It is very disrespectful to not take the time to send it back or let them know whether or not they will not be there. The problem is that most of the time, people think they are just a guidance. “Oh, you really don’t need to respond to this, they already know we’re coming” UM… that’s fine if they already know, but the whole point of an RSVP is to get a final count on numbers.

Venues, rental companies, and vendors all need to know the final numbers for the wedding so they can get the correct invoices out for the wedding. If numbers are off and you end up paying for 30 more chairs than you needed, then you may be out as much as $90, depending on the type of chair, and that does not include the amount of overcharge for food. Wedding numbers are usually due 2-3 weeks before the actual date of the wedding, and this is why. Everyone needs to remember that RSVP’s are an important step in a wedding, and they should not be taken as something to maybe fill out. They need to be taken seriously, for the sake of the Bride and Groom, since weddings are costly as it is, your family does not want to be the reason they are overcharged since you didn’t RSVP.

A great idea to remind your guests is to put a sticker with every RSVP so it is a constant reminder that they need to respond! Get yours here, I Do Weddings Sticker! The plus is that it comes in a pack of 10 so you can buy in packs for $26.99!
